Spiced minced meat recipe Dum Qeema
Dum ka qeema is a scrumptious and flavorful Indian dish made with minced meat and a range of spices. Here's a recipe you can try:
Ingredients:
- 500g minced meat (beef, lamb or goat)
- 1 massive onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4-5 inexperienced cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2-3 cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 2-3 black peppercorns
- 1 tsp crimson chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup oil
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
- Warm oil in a deep pot over medium flame. Add the cumin seeds, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaf and black peppercorns. Saute for a few seconds till the spices launch their aroma.
- Add the chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
- Add garlic ginger paste and saute for a minute.
- Add the minced meat and stir till the meat is browned.
- Add the pink chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well.
- Add yogurt and salt to taste. Mix nicely and cowl the pot with a lid.
- Cook on low warmth for 20-25 minutes or till the meat is smooth and cooked through. Keep stirring occasionally.
- Once the meat is cooked, expand the warmness and cook dinner uncovered for 5-10 minutes till the liquid has evaporated and the oil starts off evolved to separate.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve warm with rice or naan.
