Kari is a type of curry dish that can be made with a variety of meats and vegetables. The main ingredients in a kari recipe typically include a type of protein (such as chicken, beef, or tofu), a variety of spices, and a liquid (such as coconut milk or broth) to create a sauce.

Here is a simple recipe for chicken kari:

Ingredients:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces

1 onion, diced

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tbsp grated ginger

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp ground turmeric

1 tsp ground cayenne pepper (optional)

1 can of coconut milk

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add a bit more oil and sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger until softened, about 3-5 minutes.

Add the spices and stir for about a minute until fragrant.

Add the coconut milk and bring to a simmer.

Add the chicken back into the skillet, reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over rice or with naan bread and garnish with fresh cilantro.
