Chandan Kabab

Chandan Kabab is a traditional Indian dish made with minced meat, and spices, skewered and grilled. Here is a recipe for making Chandan Kabab at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb minced meat (chicken, lamb, or beef)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Skewers (if grilling)

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, garlic, ginger, onion, green chilies, yogurt, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to marinate.

Divide the meat mixture into 8-10 equal portions and shape each portion into a skewer-shaped patty.

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the skewers and cook for about 8-10 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.

Alternatively, if you want to grill the kabab, skewer the meat mixture and grill for about 8-10 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked.

Serve the Chandan Kabab with mint chutney or raita. Enjoy!

Note: If you want to make the kabab moister, you can add 1/4 cup of grated paneer to the meat mixture before marinating.
